We have exciting news to share with Power BI and business users about the certification portfolio. Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate will be renamed Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate on February 28, 2022. This new name reflects the current perspective on the data analyst job description and the abilities that are currently necessary. In addition, it shows the path that Microsoft take as they plan to introduce new skills in the future.
On the same day, Microsoft will release the new Exam PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, which will be required to earn the Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification. This exam focuses on preparing, modeling, visualizing, and analyzing data to maximize value for an organization.
DA-100: Analyzing Data with Microsoft Power BI exam, which will be retired on March 31, 2022, will be replaced by this new exam. The knowledge domains covered by these tests are the same.
What does this mean?
On February 28, 2022, if you already have the Data Analyst Associate certification, you will see the new name in your Certification Dashboard.
No problems if you've been studying for Exam DA-100. You have till March 31, 2022 to take advantage of it.
If you've just begun studying for Exam DA-100, evaluate the skills criteria for the new Exam PL-300 and shift your focus to the new exam, as the two exams are quite similar. Learners can get their Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification by passing either test between February 28 and March 31, 2022.

You should obtain this certification if you're a data analyst or business user who utilizes Power BI to assist your company in maximizing the value of its data assets. Designing and creating scalable data models, cleaning and transforming data, and providing advanced analytic capabilities that give actual business value through easy-to-understand data visualizations are all part of this role's responsibilities.
